Outsourcing & Support Incidents Success
Vodafone Egypt
VIT has provided consistent technical support to Vodafone Egypt in their Head quarters for about 3 months. A cluster of engineers are outsourced to take care of an NT4 pilot migration project to ensure smooth business operations and no computer related downtime.
Vodafone Egypt manages diverse projects at any given time. To improve conventional method of project management, it was time for the organization to move from manual to electronic solution. VirgiTech EPM deployment had to connect all the Project planners and Operations monitors at corporate and regional offices and Project Managers at different sites into a cohesive team that would enable collation of information on projects status, and costs at any given point in time. Vodafone Egypt decided to implement an Enterprise Project management Solution (EPMS) using Microsoft Project Server because it offered the best mix of functionality and flexibility.
This would help the organization to continue to grow and manage its portfolio of projects and operations. VIT implemented the solution with the help of Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) which delivered end-to-end solution in just four months. Vodafone Egypt has accrued several benefits.
VirgiTech EPM solution provided an up-to-date view of enterprise wide projects with the current status. Its collaboration tools have improved intra and inter division coordination. Built on a secure and scalable foundation, the solution integrates with its existing infrastructure as well as business processes.
Orascom Telecom Holding A leading Holding Corporate in the Telecommunications sector identified the need to outsource a dedicated Help Desk engineer on a contracted weekly basis.
VirgiTech engineers provided network maintenance for the company including: new setups, virus scans, printer services, email server, updates, patches, computer and network security solutions, and all back up solutions.
By outsourcing a weekly technician a busy firm can save payroll costs from having a full time in-house IT Tech and also make sure that all their computer needs are taken care of.
In 2004, they identified the need to upgrade their current NT4.0/Exch5.5 SVR Environment to W2003 Server/Exchange 2003 in order to enhance the collaborative nature of their business and to take advantage of efficient technologies. To facilitate the merge to this New Technology, an In Place Migration of their existing NT4.0 Environment needed to occur.
They partnered with VIT to take advantage of its existing expertise in all area of implementation from integration/implementation,training,and after installation support.By
working together a successful migration was able to take place with limited downtime to the users.

Indian Embassy Indian Embassy has partnered with VIT for the past 3 years to provide all their computer repair, and IT support including computer technical services, server migration, workstation updates, security protection and technology design. These services have allowed the client to forego hiring a full time IT person to support their network.
VirgiTech once a week technician performs all the software updates necessary to keep the client up-to-date with the current accounting software forms and procedures. Since most of the work they perform involves applications accessed via the Internet, uptime and response time are critical to the operation of their business.
Having an on call technician affords the clients the ability to always keep operating with minimized downtime, but at a cost savings in employee overhead. In 2004, the Indian Embassy has called VIT to establish an entry level enterprise network while also maintaining and developing it to fit future needs.
The Embassy had a medium-sized LAN and needed it to have access to the internet. The Embassy provided a Cisco router and needed enhanced security before they could implement the addition of their web-server and other internet server.
VIT recommended security solution including 2 firewalls based on 2 different technologies, Microsoft and Cisco Firewall as the solution. A highly secure firewall strategy was written up and enacted allowing only traffic meant specifically for a server to reach the server it was destined for.

The results were fast, efficient and most importantly successful. By combining a server rebuild, expanded storage installation and updating tape back up procedures VIT was able to rectify a bad situation.
